Day of Travel
Praise the Living Lord! Our strength comes from Him. As I write this it is 7:00 a.m. Kansas City time and we are all sitting in the Denver airport. Yes, I said Denver.
Tuesday we were all up early, we ate breakfast, checked out of the hotel and went to the market to shop. It took us 2 hours to get to the market as the traffic was awful, and we got to shop for 45 minutes. Then we went back to the hotel to get our luggage and for a final interview from a newspaper called “This Day” . We said our farewells to all even the hotel staff, which we grew to love. Then we all piled into the cars and headed to the airport. Wow, talk about traffic to get there and when we arrived at the airport it was wall to wall people and cars. I have never seen anything like it. We got to the airport to check in and Pastor John and the security got us through customs, and we praise God for them helping us. It was very overwhelming. After we got through customs we went back outside for farewells to all of the leaders and pastors who had come to say good bye and pray for us. It was very touching. We established some great friendships with them. Then they took us through the crowds and we hugged and kissed Pastor John, Lizzie, Bee, Grace, Janet, Peter, Ade and the Elder goodbye. We will miss them all. They were all so wonderful to us and we all hope that we can someday welcome them to the states in the same manner of hospitality. Then we left them and went on to stand in the long line of 500+ people that were loading on the plane. Unbelievable!!!!!!! So we are on our way at 9:50 p.m. their time and 3:50 a.m. our time. We get to Amsterdam and get on our plane to fly to the states and then we arrive in Detroit and our flights are all cancelled due to weather and no one to fly the planes. So we sit in Detroit and wait. Finally last night after not having no sleep for 48 hours we fly into Denver and we are late catching our flight to home. So we all slept on the floor in the Denver airport and now we leave this morning Thursday at 6:55 A.M. and hopefully we will be home soon. We are all exhausted but good in spirit. We look forward to seeing you all soon so we can tell you all of the stories and you can see the sights. God Bless and keep looking up.

Catching up June 26th,2007
Good morning all,
I greet you all in the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
I am so behind on putting articles in the blog, please forgive me. I will be catching up as soon as possible.
Just a quick overview of Sunday and Monday.
On Sunday we went to Holyfire Overflow Church with Pastor John, who is the senior pastor. Talk about Fire from heaven. WOW!!!! We sang and danced in the Lord for 6 hours!!!!! I have never felt such power. We in America could learn some things on freedom in Worship. When they worship it is like the gates of heaven opening.
Then Sunday night we were on National Cable T. V. live. We had the opportunity to announce the crusade to the whole country. Amazing!!!!!!
On Monday it was a day of royalty as we went to the Kings palace and feasted with the king and queen. We were treated like royalty ourselves as a band greeted us and escorted us in to his courts. Many leaders and dignitaries were present also. We visited with the king and queen and prayed for him and his reign. He is king over millions of people and he is the only Christian king in Nigeria. We had many pictures taken and I know Joe will be adding more as we go, so continue to watch for them on the blog, even after we get home.
Today we are going to Victoria Island and shop. It is the elite part of Lagos. Our plane leaves tonight at 9:40 and we arrive home in Kansas City at around 7:40 p.m. Wed. night. A long trip. I am looking forward to seeing all of you and tell you all about the trip. It has been the most amazing experience of my life.
Until next time, Keep looking up.

Land Dedication (June 23, 2007)

This is the write up by Pastor Mari Kucera for our activities on Saturday the 23rd of June, 2007.Land Dedication for Israel Aggrey Crusade: Jesus, Fire from Heaven 2007
Yesterday, Saturday June 23rd, was a powerful day. It was one of the most significant events of our time here in Lagos. It took place as we took spiritual authority over the land of the Crusade grounds. The Aggrey/Kucera, Jesus, Fire from Heaven 2007 Crusade, will take place on 100 acres of land just outside of Lagos, Nigeria. It is literally within miles of 10s of millions of people. This land is currently covered with “bush”; trees, bushes and massive growth. Much of it will have to be cleaned and cleared for facilities for buying food, water, medical care and bathrooms. All of this will have to be done by October to accommodate the millions of people that will come to the crusade and this will require funds and workers to make this happen. Transportation is scarce here and it is crucial for the people to be able to come to the crusade. We have located a sight near a highway so it will be easy access for the people. Many of the poorer Africans will need transportation and we need help in providing that for them.
As a physical sign of a spiritual move of God that will have to take place, a bulldozer cleared a section of this Holy Land!!!! Where we then gathered together and dedicated this land for Gods purposes. It became Holy Land the minute God blessed it. Numerous pastors and members of Israel Aggrey Ministries attended as did our team of delegates.
We prayed together, as well as individually over the land. Jacki Hamlin prayed and called this Gods garden where He will walk and talk with us. She then asked Pastor David to sing’ We are standing on Holy Ground” and you could feel the ground tremble as we raised our voices in song.
We ate fruit of the land….literally. There was an unusual red fruit that the Africans recognized,, peeled and gave us to eat. It was sour and hard but tasty. The fruit was called Oto. We said the red in color was a sign of the power of the blood of Jesus that would reign at the Crusade in October.
At one point everyone had prayed together on the busy highway beside this field and it was suggested that perhaps we should not go into the “bush”. Even cleared land was messy with dirt and we would have to cross a small ditch crossing. Immediately, I knew we must enter the land in order to possess it. Conquering sin is messy, that is what this Crusade is all about….calling people to repentance, salvation and obedient living to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
There is a potential for the Crusade to be one of the largest Christian events in the history of Lagos, Nigeria and even Africa. Having that kind of impact for the Kingdom of Heaven and against the kingdom of darkness is going to require us to “push through” the spiritual realm, courageously with the strength of the Lord.
I feel almost like Joshua spying out the promised land. Obviously there are so many obstacles and giants to overcome in order for Gods’ mission in the Crusade to take place. However, I see the fruit: masses of people surrendered to Christ, people set free from eternal bondage, people delivered of fears, apathy, witchcraft, sicknesses, poverty and oppression. A higher anointing for others to serve Christ in their giftings and to be able to change the situations of their lives by the grace of God.
This opportunity truly requires the slogan of this Crusade, “God Can Do Anything”. We are courageous and strong, fearing not because we know that the Lord is with us wherever we go. {Joshua}
GOD HAS CALLED US TO GO HERE!!!!!!!
HE IS WITH US!!!!!!
Praise the Lord,
Hallelujuah

Day Off (Literally)

Imagine Joe Dekat in a thong! (See attached photo) Our intended itinerary for today was a trip to the beach. You can imagine the excitement for a bunch of Kansans getting to see the ocean. Unfortunately, the gas crisis here continues with neither side willing to give in. So our wonderful hosts scoured the city of Lagos looking for gasoline to buy on the blackmarket. They invested hours and hours to no avail.
Dr. John and his team came into our hotel very apologetic. We assured them it was no problem. Seeing the beach was not a priority only a wish. We asked if we could just got for a ride and see more of the city. We got more than we bargained for...
We saw sights American eyes have never seen before. Teeming thousands filled the streets and marketplace. Our hosts assured us this was an amazingly light traffic day because most people could not get out due to the gas shortage (petrol). As with all our excursions a group of heavily armed policemen accompanied us. In some of the pictures taken surrepticiously, you can see their AK 49's and their tear gas grenades.
The purpose of the policemen was mostly to help us made it through the normal logjam that always clogs the narrow, undermaintained streets. The gas shortage allowed us to move more freely, but heightened the possible need for security since the gas shortage is fraying the nerves of the masses. A precarious balance has been disrupted, and life has gotten harder for millions of ordinary people. So the police were on hand in case things got out of control. Since we on an annointed journey nothing bad has marred our experiences.
What our hosts thought would be a routine stop turned out to be the highlight of the fun part of our trip. We all trooped upstairs to the hat shop of a dear sister in Christ named Gracie. This gifted lady who sells extraordinary hats all over the world, opened her shop to us for two hours. Every woman tried on dozens of stunning millinery creations. Every camera was kept busy as we tried to capture individuals and groups in wild and beautiful headwear.
After dragging ourselves away from the hat finery we were taken to a nearby shop owned by Bee, another beloved sister in the Lord. Her speciality is African dresses. The women especially enjoyed the beautiful dresses. Our hosts surprised us still again by taking all our measurements so they could make us another African outfit. When we wear our African outfits they call us "African-Americans."
At both the hat shop and the dress shop we prayed a blessing on the owners, their businesses and their families. An additional highlight when we returned to the hotel is the policemen who had escorted us allowed all of us to lay hands on them while Pastor Joe prayed a prayer of blessing on them.
We ended the night all gathered in a room to eat bananas, ground nuts (peanuts), oranges African style, and pineapple. A delicious time was had by all
One last observation from a man who has had his horizons widened by our new dear African friends: I thought I knew how to pray till I experienced the power of the prayers of my African brothers and sisters. Wow! These people love the Lord and know how to express their feelings toward God with a pulse-pounding clarity.
We wish you could experience the amazing things we see every day!

Third Day After the Prayer Stomp Conference

What a spiritual high we took with us as we left DeCross Church for our vehicles. We were deluged with appreciative African Christians. After many handshakes, hugs and blessings we headed for meeting with the local king. Unfortunately there is a huge strike of the working class against tax hike raising the price of gasoline. The king was needed in an emergency meeting to help settle the strike. However, were invited to tour the king's home and video tape invitations to the king and the governor to join us at the October Crusade. The pictures for this post are of what we saw in the king's home. I will give you more pictures of the streets of Lagos next. God bless you and thanks to all of you for you prayers. Pastor JoeThird Day - More Speeches and Press

The morning of Thursday, June 21, 2007 found us full of excitement for the new, custom tailored African dress provided by the generous community of believers supporting the Israel Aggrey Ministries team. We convened at 10AM with even greater anticipation for the caravan of drivers coming to ferry us to the Prayer Stomp and press conference at DeCross Church where over 2,000 people and several media cameras were waiting for the delegates from America. Buoyed by the powerful presence of the Holy Spirit in the press conference of the prior day we were energized to further proclaim and prepare the way for the Jesus Fire From Heaven Crusade less than four months away (see the pictures of Americans in African dress). We met more new friends at the hotel as the drivers arrived. The fellowship with the Body of Christ connected to Israel is simply overwhelmingly sweet. We took so many more pictures that we were a bit late leaving.
Driving to the church was an eye-opening experience. We were dodging swarms of 100cc motorcycles, road craters, small children and chickens on one-lane streets with two-way traffic. And I actually believe that every vehicle on the road has been issued with a horn timer that automatically gives two strong beeps every 20 seconds. The passenger that rides behind an experienced driver has two options for fun: 1. Roll down the window and shake hands with the motorcyclists who pass within the obligatory 3 inches (mandated by the 10 inches between the car and the median rail claimed by the cyclists as a passing lane). 2. Take a lot of pictures of the street culture because you are certainly not going anywhere quickly.
Upon arrival at DeCross we stepped out into a vibrant current of humble, grateful, loving and joyful African brothers and sisters shaking our hands and hugging us into the 1,000+ seat facility through a side door opening into a series of stairways and hallways ending at a small conference room. Just as with every other place we have gone we were treated as dignitaries and seated quickly in places of honor (my place of honor just happened to be immediately under what I guessed to be the only air conditioner in the whole facility – Praise God!). After a great time of prayer we were ushered out into the large elevated stage beneath an even larger choir balcony. We joined in with what seemed to be the choir of heaven with well over a thousand voices declaring the praises of the Lord. We were bathed in a tsunami of the Holy Spirit that spurred Pastor Mari, Pastor Joe and Dr. Curtis to stirring and wonderfully received messages preparing the way of the Lord and His Great Spiritual Tsunami coming in October with the Jesus Fire From Heaven Crusade.
We enjoyed a wonderful supper at the hotel and more fellowship and gifts from our crusade partners in the evening. We all slept well!

Part two of Second Day

Greetings yo you all in the glorious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Today we were able to present all of the information regarding the upcoming Crusade: Jesus Fire from Heaven 2007 in October, to all of the press and media at an International Press Conference. This event was personally my favorite event so far.
Several of us were able to preach inspiring Biblical messages regarding the Gospel, the Harvest, the Abraham call, the blessing that follows obedience to Jesus Christ, etc.... I so enjoyed seeing the Africans preach as well as seeing my dear American co-preachers teach with powerful and sincere devotion. It was a 5 hour long, hot, and humid event, nevertheless we were all blessed.
Afterwards, we received our first African meal of chicken and hot{spicy} rice. It was delicious. Then we returned to our hotel where we were blessed wth authentic African garg made especially for us. Joe will be downloading the pictures so be sure to watch for them. This experience is so incredibly fun and truly meaningful. We will preach tomorrow the 21st and wear our outfits to the Prayer Storm.
We are looking forward even more to this event. We will be preaching, praying, listening and worshiping the Lord together all day!!!! God is truly going to do something powerful in this Crusade in October. It is already starting here now among the leaders. They have been praying and fasting with beautiful dedication. The leaders are so genuinely kind and smiling endlessly, easily laughing and so gracious. I know they are Christians by their love. Tomorrow is another big day for the Prayer Storm and Joe will be writing to let everyone know how that went. We are a day late getting everything entered in as we are all so busy and tired when we get back. The prayer storm is Thurs. the 21st. On Friday we will go sight seeing and possibly shopping. So until next time we all send our love and watch out Frontline. The spirit is coming home with us and it is POWERFUL!!!!!!!
Much love to you too!
Mari and all
P.S. Our plane gets in on the 27th around 1:00 p.m. We fly in from Detroit.

Sunday, June 17, 2007 Commissioning Service

Sunday morning, June 17, at 10am the Honorable Apostle Israel Aggrey (as he has been known for many years in Lagos Nigeria) conducted a powerful service of worship and praise with compelling Scripture and preaching. After that Pastor Aggrey broke the seal of a bottle of virgin oil he had purchased some months ago. He then commenced a 1/2 hour time of strong prayer during which each of the five delegates to Nigeria from Frontline K.C. were called forth in front of the church. Each delegate received personal commissioining and annointing with oil with the church as witness (see pictures). The mission of the delegates is to attend a week of press conferences in Lagos, Nigeria wherein several speeches will given by the delgates and leaders of the Israel Aggrey International Ministries regarding the unprecedented evangelical crusade planned for October 10th thru 13th of 2007.

First Day

Jesus, Fire from Heaven, 2007
Praise the Living God!!!
The delegates to Nigeria left MCI at 5:15 P.M. on Sunday the 17th of June. Our flight to Memphis was smooth and fast.
Arriving in Memphis we hurried to catch our plane to Amsterdam. We met up with Curtis and Betty Driver who flew in from Atlanta. It was a joyous reunion with them. We were all so excited to fly to Amsterdam and sit on a plane for 9.5 hours!!!!! Ha! Ha! The flight was very uneventful and most of us did get a few hours of sleep. We arrived in Amsterdam at 3:10 A.M. our time and 11:10 A.M. their time. Amsterdam airport is huge. The flight board showing all of the incoming and outgoing flights was amazing. I have never seen so many schedules to different areas of the world. Unfortunately, we did not have time to shop to Jack's happiness. Maybe on the way back.
We left Amsterdam one hour later than planned as someone checked their luggage and never showed up to board the plane. So they had to empty their luggage before we could leave. STRANGE!!!!
By 2:00 P.M. we were on our way to Lagos, Nigeria Africa. Praise God!!!! We had just six hours left to ride on a plane. Thank God. We could feel the excitement building in us as we got closer to our destination. Prayer was definitely going out from that plane thousands of feet in the air. We were on angels wings in the heavenly skies.
Then we see the city lights and the plane starts to decend.
WE HAVE ARRIVED!!!!!!!!! HALLEJUAH!!!!!!!!!
More prayer!!!! The Holy Spirit is with us, in us and all around us.
We get to the immigration desk and we are greeted by Israel Aggreys people. There are at least 50 or more pastors and wives there to meet and greet us. What a joyous time and celebration.
The cameras were rolling and clicking away. We were all so excited and happy to finally meet each and everyone. The power we felt from all of these Godly men an women was beyond imagination. We had lots of handshakes and hugs too. The women were dressed in beautiful attire and even some of the men had their African dress on. This is truly a blessed occasion.
We made it through customs without even being checked, thanks to Israel’s ministry. The people of Nigeria all love Israel Aggrey. They all say “Man of God and Apostle”. What an honor to say we know and love him.
We then went outside to where we were interviewed and questions were asked and answered by all of the Delegates. Just behind us was the huge billboard with Pastor Israel and Pastor Patricks picture on it with “Jesus,Fire from heaven, 2007. It was amazing!!!
Then we all piled into cars with a police escort. This was quite the adventure!!!! Israel was right when he told us about the traffic. The rule of thumb is Honk, Go and pray no one hits you as you merge into lanes that are not there!!!! I prayed to God and made a promise to not have road rage ever again in Kansas City. We have it so good.
Israel also told us the city never sleeps. How true. People were everywhere.
Then the best part of the trip. THE HOTEL!!!!!
THE HILLCREST HOTEL IN LAGOS
It is just one month old and hid back behind steel gates and security. You walk in and WOW!!!!
MARBLE FLOORS AND WALLS, CRYSTAL CHANDILEIRS AND BEAUTIFUL FOUNTAINS AND ART WORK.
We were all so pleasantly surprised. There were a lot of Israels people here to greet us and we had shouts of praise and prayer right in the hotel lobby. Not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ here!!!!!! Israels people walk in holy authority and grace.
We got checked into our rooms with the best of service and tender care. Then we all went down to the elegant dining room. Wow!!! By midnight we all were full and tired so sleep was the next thing on our agenda.
Now it is Tuesday morning and a new day of rest and relaxation. Tomorrow our schedules start with a press conference at 10:00 A.M. So until tomorrow evening, keep looking up and keep us in your prayers daily.
IN HIS LOVE,
Jacki and All
P.S. Pictures will come tomorrow.
Today we meet Israels mother, sisters and children. What a joy that will be.
P.S. Israel and Patrick and our families and friends. We love you all and miss you very much.
